Welcome to Girard Bible Church!
We are a church of ordinary people who have been transformed by an extraordinary gospel - Jesus Christ died and was raised so that sinners would be reconciled to God.
We have a passion to proclaim and live according to this message.
We meet for Lord’s Day Worship at 10:45.
Our service typically lasts about 75-85 minutes.
We sing songs together that exalt Christ and rejoice in the gospel.
We read Scripture and pray together.
And we hear God's Word taught through expository preaching.
Child Care
We provide nursery care (located in the education wing) throughout the worship service for infants through age 3.
During the sermon we provide Children’s Church (located in the education wing) for children age 4 through 2nd grade.
All nursery workers are required to complete a ministry application process and background checks.
SUNDAY @ 9:30 AM – Sunday School
WHAT'S IT LIKE?
We have classes for Adults, Youth, and Children.
Our adult classes are a mixture of expositional (verse-by-verse) and topical studies intended to further equip the saints for the work of ministry.
We also have classes for children from Nursery–5th grade and for youth from 6th–12th grade that focus on teaching the essential truths of the Christian faith through reading, explaining, and applying the Bible.
Our children learn about the attributes of God as they read through different books of the Bible.
Our youth study the Bible is a survey fashion over the course of 3–4 years with various topics and doctrines interlaced throughout the study. The study is designed to expose our youth to the storyline of the Bible and the contents of each book. The topics and doctrines intend to equip our youth to cultivate biblical convictions as they grow up in the God-ordained times of our community, country, and culture.
SUNDAY @ 10:45 AM – Worship Service
WHAT'S IT LIKE?
Our worship service typically lasts about 75–85 minutes.
In our worship services, we seek to ascribe and declare the infinite worth of the Triune God (God the Father, God the Son, God the Spirit).
We worship God in song by singing lyrics that focus our minds upon the greatness and goodness of God, especially in what He has accomplished in Christ as declared to us in the gospel.
We worship God in prayer by calling upon Him to fulfill His promises, demonstrate His faithfulness in our lives, and give His attention to our requests.
We worship God in giving by gathering our financial gifts in order to use them for the advancement of the gospel and the exaltation of Jesus Christ in our community and around the world.
We worship God in faithfully teaching and attentively listening to His word.
1st and 3rd SUNDAYS @ 5:15 PM – Equipping Hour
WHAT’S IT LIKE?
Cultivating, growing, and maintaining a robust biblical worldview is critical for every believer.
Every first and third Sunday evening each month we provide a time of teaching and discussion about how God's word teaches us to think about the pressing issues in the Christian life and our culture today.
2nd and 4th SUNDAYS – Small Groups
WHAT'S IT LIKE?
We have two Sunday small groups that meet at various locations. One meets at the church after the worship service and the other meets at the Water Street Apartment Complex in the middle of the afternoon.
Both groups offer an informal setting in which questions and discussion are encouraged.
