Rich Wiens
Rich and his wife moved from Omaha to Girard in 1983 and soon after that time Rich joined the elder board at GBC. Rich trusted Christ as his Savior at an early age and was very blessed to have Godly parents who taught him the scriptures from a very early age, and made the plan of salvation clear and stressed the importance of a personal relationship with Christ.
Rich had the privilege of being born and raised on the Mission field and for this he is grateful. After graduating from High school at Ivory Coast Academy, Rich moved to Omaha, where he attended Grace University. After graduating from Grace he went to University of Nebraska getting a teaching degree in physical education and elementary education. The Lord led Rich and his wife Beth to Girard in 1983 where he spent his entire 34 year teaching career teaching physical education in the Girard schools. Rich is retired but still keeps busy working part time and faithfully serving the church and his family.
Since Beth was born and raised in Girard, moving back was like moving back home. Rich and Beth have lived in Girard 40 years of their 43 years of marriage. God has blessed them with four adult children, Josh, Rachel, Rebecca, and Sara, and ten grandchildren.
Rich considers being an elder of GBC as a real joy and honor. To see the members of the church grow in their walk with the Lord over the years has been exciting. God has used the ministry of GBC to touch many lives through the years and for this we are thankful and give God all the glory.
