WE ARE SO GLAD YOU'RE HERE!
Take a look around and know that you are always welcome at Girard Bible Church.
WHO ARE WE ?
Girard Bible Church (GBC) was established in 1969 by a small group of families who were seeking to study the Bible and live out their faith. These families saw a need in Girard for Bible-centered teaching, discipleship and fellowship as defined in the Bible. Most of these founding families are still at GBC.
GBC continues to be soundly fundamental in doctrine, lovingly conservative in ministry philosophy and practice, and independent from denominational control. We exist for two primary reasons:
to provide a place for the teaching of the Word of God, the fellowship of His saints, the Biblical worship of God, and prayer.
to reach out into the world around us with the light of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Our desire is to bring glory to God in all that we are and all that we do.
Our distinctive is that we teach and preach the Bible alone. The teaching and preaching of the Word of God is the central focus of every class and church service, emphasizing a literal understanding and practical application of the Holy Scriptures.
WHAT ARE WE?
A true Bible church is historically conservative and fundamental in it's theology. We align ourselves with high standards of morality and ethics that are taken from the Bible. We consistently teach the Word of God to a world in need, as wholly sufficient to meet that need.
A true Bible church is Biblically balanced. We firmly adhere to and defend the fundamentals of the faith while addressing contemporary issues. We wish to honor God by living according to the Bible. We utilize the strengths of sound Biblical doctrine, which leads to a bold and honest witness for the Gospel of Jesus.
A true Bible church is independent and self-supporting. Following Biblical examples and teaching, the congregation is encouraged to give voluntarily, systematically, and proportionally to support both the local ministry and worldwide missions. We have no denominational structure to bring in outside financial support, nor interference or control. We recognize our brothers and sisters in Girard and the surrounding communities who are like-minded and have a deep love for the Bible and a genuine concern for the lost.
